We received the following “Alert” from the NGO GRUFIDES
Occurence:
-The so called public audience to hear the results of the environmental studies for the new mining contract lasted only 20 minutes, despite the fact that there were 21 folders to be studied.
. –The audience was carried out with 1000 police present and in the presence of the 227 mining workers who were paid US$80.00 a head to be present and were given a free lunch. -The local Mayors ,Manager of Natural Resources in the Regional Government and regional counselors were not allowed to take part and the functionaries from the Ministry of Energy and Mines simply disappeared.
- The Regional Government of Cajamarca will ask for the annulment of this public audience.
